Qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 1976, Anita Rush continued to work in the Acute Sector until transferring in 1981 to the Community sector where she continued her professional development, gaining a Diploma in Health Care Practice incorporating the ENB 298 Care of the Elderly and more recently an MSc in Health Ergonomics.

Throughout her professional career Anita has continued to deliver and manage a quality service provision both as a Nurse Advisor for Priority Enhanced Care - a community service for patients with complex needs and more recently as Clinical Nurse Specialist Berkshire Community Equipment Services.

Taking a proactive approach to risk management within both services Anita has been able to implement health and safety policies, comprehensive training programmes and has designed a risk assessment form which was accepted Trust wide.

During this period Anita has worked with several Bariatric patients with her dissertation focusing on Bariatric Care within the community - the findings of which have been presented at workshops and conferences in the U.K, Europe and at International level. Anita has in conjunction with the Disabled Living Foundation developed a Bariatric web site, and independently published several articles on Bariatric management.

Anita is a member of National Back Exchange, a tutor for the Disabled Living Foundation in London, Chair of the National Back Exchange Bariatric Special Interest Group and is the Educational Representative on the Council for the National Association of Equipment Providers, working with other 3rd Sector providers to implement competency based equipment training across the U.K.
