This session  will discuss the usage of MRI for lumbar spine conditions as part of the Derbyshire Low Back Pain Pathway. The pitfalls and benefits of ordering scans in primary care will be discussed and delegates will have the opportunity to understand basic principles and interpretation of standard MR imaging techniques.

Owen Moore currently works as an NHS Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Practitioner in Derbyshire providing first-contact triage for Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal patients. The local population of 111,600 can access the award-winning MSK Service for assessment, diagnostics, treatment and onward referral in the local community hospital. An on-site DTC also provides some Orthopaedic interventions [e.g. fast-track arthroscopy, CTS].
